\nWe see it as our responsibility and thought it would be okay to give some tips concerning the safety of you and your loved ones in your kitchen and home while heat producing things are around you that could cause a lot of trouble.<\/strong><\/p>\n
<\/div>\n

Kitchen:<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Don’t go away and stay away too long from your kitchen.<\/li>\n
  • Use a kitchen timer and take it with you. Keep inflammable materials like kitchen towels on a safe distance from the stove.<\/li>\n
  • Turn off the gas or electricity right after cooking.<\/li>\n
  • Keep your pans stove and cupboards fat free fry with pans you can put a lid on.<\/li>\n
  • BUY THE RIGHT fire extinguisher!! One that can deal with high temperatures of oil.<\/li>\n
  • OUR ADVICE is to let yourself be VERY WELL INFORMED about the use of extinguishers and fire blankets.When used in the wrong situation they can be a great danger*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Flash in the pan:<\/h2>\n
      \n
    • PUT A LID ON THE PAN AND LEAVE IT THERE FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES.<\/li>\n
    • Immediately turn the switch from the heat source to prevent further heating.<\/li>\n
    • Turn off the hood. And DON’T WALK WITH a hot pan.<\/li>\n
    • DON\u00b4T USE WATER to extinguish WHEN YOUR PAN IS ON FIRE. This causes an explosion.
      \nAgain:
      \n* -Also wrong extinguishers and certain fire blankets can be a risk.<\/li>\n

      * -Different fires mean different extinguishers; Frying oil needs a foam extinguisher.
      \n  General extinguisher rule: Get the best possible advice and information from experts.<\/ul>\n

      Some general tips:<\/h2>\n
        \n
      • Don’t put candles near inflammable material like curtains and use nonflammable candleholders.<\/li>\n
      • keep matches and lighters out of children’s reach.<\/li>\n
      • Clean your kitchen hood.<\/li>\n
      • Don’t fill your fondue- en gourmet close to fire. Refill-it when it is cooled down!<\/li>\n
      • Dont smoke in bed Switch off equipment and put it on a safe , steady place when you going to sleep.<\/li>\n
      • Switch off your tv with the on\/off switch. Don’t leave it on stand-by.<\/li>\n
      • Watch halogen lighting, keep it away from inflammable material and switch it off when you leave the house.<\/li>\n
      • No power cord under the carpet!<\/li>\n
      • Have your chimney checked<\/li>\n
      • Place a shield in front of your fireplace and get a spark arrestor for your chimney.<\/li>\n
      • Use a smoke alarm and use it in the right place.<\/li>\n
      • When you have a fire place or use wood ; get yourself a carbon monoxide detector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        (Student) Room:<\/h2>\n

          FOR EVERYBODY: <\/center><\/p>\n

          When living on ‘your’ own you don’t think about a fire right away. If it does happen.. remember you have \u00f3nly three minutes to save yourself.<\/li>\n

        • Get rid of that mess on the stairs..<\/li>\n
        • Use a smoke alarm. Smoke is horrible . It may surprise you when you are asleep<\/li>\n
        • Make an escape plan – with your other homies. What is the best, fastest and safest way?<\/li>\n
        • keep your runways free from beer pallets, obstacles and garbage.<\/li>\n
        • Don’t just empty your ashtray in the waste bucket. Don’t put your laundry to dry near a heater; your stuff may get to hot and catch on fire.<\/li>\n
        • Watch out for -multi electric plugs they easily get overloaded causing short circuit .Turn your stereo\/tv set off; don’t just leave it on stand by.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Elderly:<\/h2>\n

          • Use a smoke and fire alarm<\/li>\n
          • No plants and flowers on the television. Short circuit may cause fire.<\/li>\n

          • That\u00b4s about it.However nothing stops you from learning more!<\/li>\n
