Yes, just like our sandwich comes from ‘Lord Sandwich’!
A Brittish statesman John Montagu, known as the 4th Earl of Sandwich.
Trying to find a good stroganoff sauce recipe can be rather painfull.
We like to think of it as a medium thick, orange to light brown colored sauce with a great,
good piece of meat; a quality steak or roastbeef and prepared with attention.
We want a tasty looking dish on our plate; Not a fried shammy under a sauce of gray
floorcloth.
For the same reasons we prefer to add some carrots and a light tomato taste accent.
We personally get a severy headache when we see a good peace of meat with sauce like
this, cut and served with pasta.. Ghee.
No, this we eat with fried potatoes; name a variation..
We found that with all the instant made sauces from the shop, Stroganoff sauce is
perhaps the one that still needs some work.
We have given one example but Stroganoff sauce is one that you should really try and
‘find out’ yourself !
STEP1
Take the steaks through pepper. Right before you start;lightly salt your beef steakes.
at once in the pan. Wait for about 30 seconds for you put in another one.
Use three minutes for medium and 5 for well-done.
STEP2
Take the meat out and let rest on a pre-heated oven plate or use tin foil.
Bake the onions for 3 minutes than add mushrooms and small paprika
cubes.
STEP3
Slowely cook the paprika tender.
Sprinkle with paprika powder , flower and
mix for half a minute till all flower is gone.
STEP4
add carrots , tomato paste , cream and wine.
Slowely cook the sauce over low heat till thick enough.
SERVE HOT with Pommes (round potatoes) baked with bacon
and half an onion in rings or french fries.
Tastes good with salad, lettuce and chicory
Garnish with a little dry parsley and finely chopped pickle
Bon appetit!
Next week (almost) no meat
We will make a ‘Knutsel’ ei or so called ‘tinker egg’.
A simple and very tasty recipe.
Originally a favourite of a colleague his father Paul.
This is a warm bread meal that replaces dinner.
TIP:
Try some drops of Worcestershiresauce.
