Ingredients
1/2 lb ground beef
1/8 cup milk
1/8 cup rolled oats
1/8 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 egg
7/8 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon dried ginger (or 1/2 tsp fresh grated)
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
7/8 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon chopped celery
1/4 cup onion, chopped
7/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
Preheat oven to 350F. Thoroughly combine ground beef, milk, oats, celery,crackers, egg, 1/4 cup onion, 1 teaspoons garlic powder, salt, pepper and chili powder for meatballs. Form meat mixture into 1-inch balls and place in a 13×9-inch baking pan.
STEP 2:
Combine ketchup, brown sugar, liquid smoke, 1 teaspoons garlic powder, 1/4 cup chopped onion, ginger and sesame oil. Stir mixture until sugar dissolves (will be a bit grainy). Pour sauce mixture over meatballs. Bake at 350F for one hour. I like to serve this recipe with rice and steamed Asian veggies.Enjoy!
