-Marvin gaye was a legendaric singer from Motown.
-This great joyfull ‘open-arms’ song is from ’68
-He was born in Washington D.C.
-Started out in local groupos like Rainbows, de Marquees en de Moonglows
-Began workin at Motown as singer and drummer!
-His powerful soul voice soon made him a big star and a wanted duet singer. He sang many great songs with Tammi Terell.
-Marvin Gaye was a multi-instrumentalist. After Tammi died he left the music scene but returned to make ‘What’s going on’. A record with not only pink clouds but also social critique on it.
-The CEO of record-company MOTOWN did not wanted to publish the record.
-However.. ‘What’s going on’ would become a masterpiece and one of the most influencial records in the history of soul music.
-Fabulous song ‘loving you is sweeter..’ itself, was written by: Ivy Jo Hunter, Stevie Wonder
-Stevie Wonder added the drums to this track
