| 1/2 lb ground vegetarian beef |
| 1/8 cup milk |
| 1/8 cup rolled oats |
| 1/8 cup breadcrumbs |
| 1/2 egg |
| 7/8 cup ketchup |
| 1/2 cup brown sugar |
| 1/2 cup brown sugar |
| 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke |
| 1/2 teaspoon dried ginger (or 1/2 tsp fresh grated) |
| 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil |
| 7/8 tablespoon molasses |
| 1 tablespoon chopped celery |
| 1/4 cup onion, chopped |
| 7/8 teaspoon garlic powder |
| 1/2 teaspoon salt |
| 1/8 teaspoon pepper |
| 1/2 teaspoon chili powder |
| HOW TO MAKE: |

| Preheat oven to 350F. Thoroughly combine ground vegetarian beef, milk, oats, celery,crackers, egg, 1/4 cup onion, 1 teaspoons garlic powder, salt, pepper and chili powder for vegetarian meatballs. Form vegetarian meat mixture into 1-inch balls and place in a 13x9-inch baking pan. STEP 2: Combine ketchup, brown sugar, liquid smoke, 1 teaspoons garlic powder, 1/4 cup chopped onion, ginger and sesame oil. Stir mixture until sugar dissolves (will be a bit grainy). Pour sauce mixture over vegetarian meatballs. Bake at 350F for one hour. I like to serve this recipe with rice and steamed Asian veggies.Enjoy! |
