On these pages one can find the Japanese Kanji symbols and words that I’ve used on the Rocksushi homepage. I am also making two dictionaries. One will be a handy word-set for use in daily communication. The other is a list of my favorite words translated into Japanese. A handy sitemap of all the Kanji will soon come

Thanks for reading and Enjoy your day!! Ohh..!

When you want to study the real Japanese language -Kanji with Chinese characters- I’d suggest to spend money for a good, clear and neutral learning book. Buy one without too much personal interpretation of these characters and get yourself one with translations and Japanese pronunciation. Below I give a few reading tips to learn Japanese language!

    Learn Katakana & Hiragana

There are three writing systems in Japan:

    • Hiragana
    • Katakana
    • Kanji – original chinese

In japan children first learn to speak Hiragana and Katakana; two phonetic alphabets.Download these two and once you´ve learned them, you can already read a little Japanese! That´s very handy when you are staying in Japan for a longer time.
And a great way to learn about culture tóó!

There's a wide range of textbooks available to learn Japanese. I am not an expert on these things but here some titles I used:

    -  Japanese for busy people. Romanized version. A series of textbooks using Kana.
    -  Oxford Japanese dictionary. With lots of extra info. Learn to pronounce all the words using the Hiragana and Katakana syllables.
    -  2000 most common words.
    -  And my favourite, a little red book 'Essential Kanji' from O'Neill. A lovely authentic treasure with pure information. It has Kanji characters in 'Kun' ,Japanse reading, as well as 'On' the original Chinese reading. The Kanji characters are shown in pen and brush stroke versions.

There are many free resources on the internet. You can even follow lessons or little courses. This is one "Erin's Challenge! I Can Speak Japanese." A fun and informative way to learn about language, culture and about daily life in Japan!
