-trottels-
Always the same song – far arie
“don’t get lost”
Transcription of television, broadcast date: 2008-10-23.
At the table were Prof. Icke (physicist), Matthijs van Nieuwkerk- Host and presenter and Jan Mulder – Journalist.
Prof. Icke talks about financial crisis and ‘mass-madness’.
Icke refers to a Story: ‘Monster Trotteldrom’ written/drawn by Marten Toonder.
Toonder hated the idea of ‘group-thinking’. Mass-psychology was a theme in his great work.
The inhabbitants of the Isle Trotteldrom may refer to:
Trot – draf (dutch), gallop (running wild here)
Trottel – fool, sucker, sucktion cup saugnapf (deutsch)
Throttle – gear, gaslever, handle
Troll – ugly troublemaker, toe sucker, thumb ring fetesjist
In the original story plays an policeman/field-guard Laristrot. (lari strot)
In English this would translate to something like ‘Rob Bish’ (rubbish)
Also ‘being confused’ in dutch is ‘in de war’.
Icke- “Ofcourse money is a kind of Esperanto, an agreement to sell stone bricks for yoghurt. But money isn’t something concrete infact, it is nothing”.
Host- “What did it remind you of..?” (the news about the financial crisis back in 2008..)
Icke- “It didn’t make me think -like some people suggest- of an Homeric or shakespearean tragedy.
This is a funny cartoon! Really.. this is purely.. all those financial criminals ..they are nothing but a caricature of themselves and so I thought of something goin back quite some time, to 1964”.
Host- “What is it?”
Icke- “Well.. That’s Olivier B. Bommel (Olivier B. Bommel- bear character in cartoon by Marten Toonder)
Who one day did visit the Isle of the Trottels”.
– “Those are a froggy kind of creatures with the common character traits that they’re always looking for consensus and always agree with eachother.
If one says one thing, the other one sees it that way too and then what happens..”
Icke- “One of them has a premonition; something terrible is going to happen..
“Yes”, says one.
“I feel that too” says another one and a third Trottel says he feels just the same way and than ten..”
– “The next moment they all jump into their little holes and hiding places because they are afraid a monster is coming, a monster named Trotteldrom a sort of dragon monster that comes out of his cave the moment that they all have had that feeling of premonition, and than rages and storms through their town. Everything on the ground is rushed and knocked over, is like blown to pieces rrats.. everything to the ground”.
Icke- “Than they wake up again and say: “yes, it’s all clear. That must have been the monster. We sure had the right feeling huh? You see what happened..!”
– “One day Tom Poes (cat character and friend of Bear Bommel in the comic series -see here ) meets a little Trottel, this one is very sad and sais: I never have this premonition.. I must not belong here..!”
Prof. Icke says :”excact true, nothing.. You must be able to calculate it, be able to measure it, it has to be concrete, it got to be bricks, not that foolish money..!”
– “So that little creature says to Tom ..and Tom has gotten an idea.. He leaves cause he wants to find out about these hiding places and than it turns out, all these little holes end up in this huge cave and Tom Poes thinks ..I think I know what this monster is..”
Icke- “The next time the monster appears Tom Poes throws a big bomb into the sea as soon as the monster appears ..Klabamm! A hugh Tsunami and what happens.. this monster exists out of all those little Trottels themselves who, scared as they were panicked, ran away ..and then came out of that cave as the one big monster that destroyed their own hometown!
So, that monster we are ourselves! We believe these kind of illusions.
Money is an illusion, It is actually about nothing really.
And the AEX-index (Stock Exchange) is an illusion about an illusion”.
Here Jan Mulder joins the conversation
Mulder (journalist)- “What do you invest in, Vincent..?”
Icke- “I don’t invest at all ”
Mulder- “Sure sure.. yeah you do. What do you do with your money? Buy art..?”
Icke- “No, I make art. Maybe I sell some art but I don’t buy art”.
Mulder- “Persian carpets?”
Icke- “No no, If I’d wanted work of a renowned artist than I…”
Mulder- “A house..?”
Icke- “Yes! A house yes! But that’s touchable, concrete.
I was talking about bricks before, that’s real stuff. The house I live in is not an illusion;
that’s a roof over my head, and that’s real fine. Im very happy with that and that’s no irony”.
Icke- “I own a house, but that is a real possession, I can touch it, I can knock on the walls; it’s real, but a
100 bill.. What are the costs of producing a 100 bill in physical reality? Maybe ten cents orso”.
Matthijs (Host)- “So.. the moral of the story is we ourselves are the credit crisis?”
Icke- “There are two pieces of moral: it is not about facts but about opinions and those are extremely simple to manipulate, we have seen this and so therefore re-al-ly dangerous.
And the second is, this monster.. we are ourselves”.

Quick Comment
What happens in this story are infact some known elements in a rule of conflict.
Bad elite and their organized networks can create mini & mega monsters like this.
Throw sudden frustration, gossip and worse at people.
You don’t want to know what happens when a controlled hurde filled with ‘stamping’ lunatics, jokers and corruption up and around you, sees you as a monster not realising they’re the real one themselves, made out of people that already somehow fell- and took a bow for vague authority and want your ass. A long gray bunch. A fascist faceless mess.
Dirty handshakes that for ever and continiously ruin lifes make a twisted, and suspicious society, that much is for sure.
Victims, normal people, of all this can be chased to the edge of sanity, chased up to their own roof when all of a sudden they find themselves in a blaze of confusing, privacy breaking attention. Sneaky or brute. People can be made so scared they can even hardly communicate.
Afraid as they could be that they ,for example, may show unconscious signs, in word or gesture that easily and purposefully can be explained as a ‘proof of guilt for something bad or suspicious’ .. Yes.. The mind is defenceless.
It takes strength to be gentle and kind.. Dare to add color to your life.
